American surf rock band The Ventures, which I have posted before, butcher the jazz standard Caravan live in Tokyo, set to footage of their first Japanese tour, Beloved Invaders.
I like it.
Again, mind Mel Taylor’s drumming, to hear him play their classic Wipe Out is like being slapped across the face. This man is underrated.
The real eye-candy starts at 1:50, impressive photography, don’t you think?
They are to this day revered in Japan.
So what better to conclude this promo than the nighttime view over shiny Tokyo?

American instrumental rock band The Ventures play the classic Wipe Out live in Japan, 1966, originally by The Surfaris.
Great quality and fantastic drumming by Mel Taylor, as you probably knew already. This band was the best selling instrumental group in history.
I say, Charlie does surf!
