Love Me | Elvis Presley

Ed Sullivan Show, 26 October 1956

Flat Duo Jets play Love Me, popularised by Elvis Presley in 1956, which you may have heard coming out of Sailor’s mouth in David Lynch’s Wild At Heart (1990), from their self-titled album Flat Duo Jets (1990), recorded live to two-track in someone’s garage.

Treat me like a fool,
Treat me mean and cruel,
But love me.

Break my faithful heart,
Tear it all apart,
But love me.

If you ever go,
Darling, I’ll be oh so lonely
I’ll be sad and blue,
Crying over you, dear only.

I would beg and steal
Just to feel your heart
Beatin’ close to mine

Well, if you ever go,
Darling, I’ll be oh so lonely
I’ll be sad and blue,
Crying over you, dear only.

I would beg and steal
Just to feel your heart
Beatin’ close to mine

Well, if you ever go,
Darling, I’ll be oh so lonely
Beggin’ on my knees,
All I ask is please, please love me
Oh yeah

Go Dex!

Freedom At 21 - Jack White

YES IT HAS LEAKED! SOMEONE WHO GOT THE FLEXI-DISC POSTED IT ONLINE

Kind of relevant.

How does he play that solo, I can never understand his guitar solos.

Flat Duo Jets, a rockabilly two-piece that would greatly influence The White Stripes, play Crazy Hazy Kisses, their reworked version of Gene Vincent’s Baby Blue, live on the porch of the ΣΑΕ fraternity house in the University of Georgia.

From Tony Gayton’s documentary Athens, Ga. - Inside/Out (1987) about the city’s music scene, which you may watch here, also featuring R.E.M. and The B-52s.

They also wrote a really cool Theme for Dick Fontaine, the director of Sound?? (1967) and Art Blakey: The Jazz Messenger (1988). Find it below.
