Jitterbug Waltz by the legendary Fats Waller, whose golden organ you may or not have heard in David Lynch’s Eraserhead (1977).
The Rosenberg Trio’s masterful take at The Sheik of Araby jazz standard.
Great swing, posted it just for the kicks ;)
Fats Waller & His Rhythm’s 1939 The Sheik of Araby, written by Harry B. Smith and Francis Wheeler and originally composed by Ted Snyder.
A jazz standard and quite a dirty song in its time, part of its lyrics have featured in F. Scott Fitzgerald’s The Great Gatsby:
I’m the Sheik of Araby,
Your love belongs to me.
At night when you’re asleep
Into your tent I’ll creep.
And this other part which doesn’t appear in the novel:
The stars that shine above,
Will light our way to love.
You’ll rule this land with me.
